Song No 11: Abu'atā
This piece was one of Reza Shah’s favorites. Remembering Djenāb’s voice from the days of the Constitutional Revolution, and due to his friendship with the Bakhtiāri family, Rezā Shāh had often heard the singer perform in person. It is said that before ascending the throne, Reza Khān attended a gathering at the mansion of Ali Gholi Khān Bakhtiāri (Sardār Asad II.
During a game of backgammon with Djenāb Damāvandi, Reza Khān requested him to perform a song from Hāfez in the Abu'ata melodic segment, part of the Shour mode, to enliven the atmosphere. That same song was later recorded on gramophone discs, with accompaniment by Mirzā Hossein Gholi Khān.
