Song No 14: Bayāt-e Tork (1)
This piece begins with the voice of Ali Akbar Shahnāzi (the 14-year-old son of Mirzā Hossein Gholi Khān), who says: “Please Mr. Djenāb accompany me in this Bayat-e Tork music.” This piece and the Afshāri song (Song No 3) are among the works that Master Shahnāzi later discussed in an interview with Houshang Ebtehāj (Sāyeh). In that interview, he recalled the intense rehearsals before the recording and the immense joy his father felt upon hearing his gramophone record. He also praised Djenāb Damāvandi’s singing technique.
Master Daryoush Pirniakan has noted that whenever this record was mentioned in classes, Master Shahnāzi would always remark “Djenāb sang very well, Djenāb sang very well.” At the end of this gramophone record, Mirzā Asdollāh Atābaki says: “Mr. Ali Akbar is the son of Mirzā Hossein-Gholi who plays an instrument at the age of fourteen and accompanies Djenāb Damāvandi, Māshā’Allāh (Bravo)”

Bayāt-e Tork 1 Lyrics
I told my beloved to be patient until I see her well, unless she goes away from my heart
My beloved has taken such a place in my heart that the forgetting her seems difficult
