Song No 25: Masnavi Pich
Masnavi or Masnavi Pich is actually a part of the Shour mode, where the poems of Rumi are often sung in this form. The striking resemblance between the famous song “This mouth is closed, a new mouth has opened” by Master Mohammadrezā Shajariān, which was always broadcasted on television before the call to prayer during Ramadān, and this piece by Djenāb Damāvandi, indicates an inseparable link between singers across different eras in the history of Iranian music.
